- Time Sleeps

Time sleeps gently
as the midnight children
turn to touch
the mirror of the dawn.
Gently, gently,
The figures move to touch
and turn to touch again.
The caress of a softer Moon
turns even to pray
within the subject of her eyes
and is renewed again to pray.
And in time the words
are echoed by the figures
turning ever in the quiet
that sleeps
before the mirror of the dawn.
