- Crimson Dream

I had dwelled so long
in the place the winds had taken me
but as I looked to the horizon
my only thoughts
were thoughts of you.
I listened to the mournful song
as the moon cried
in the silence of the night.
And waited for the stars
to whisper the mystery of your name.
And as I touched
the magic substance of the dawn
I wished instead
for the simple pleasure
of the texture of your skin.
But the day folded quietly
into the forgetfulness of night,
and I gathered the crimson
blankets of the sky about me,
and drifted softly in the dream-time
where you are always by my side.
