- The Fall

I found my descent into sorrow
a never ending fall,
and though I reached
to touch your hand
it was too large
a gulf to overcome.
When my fall into despair
became more
than I could stand
I called your name
and longed to hear an answer.
But all I found
was the silence of the wind
and the emptiness of vision
as my fall into the darkness
overcame all I understood.
And though you reached out to me
and answered my call,
you could never overcome
my fall into the silence
and descent into despair.
