- The Kiss

It was my evening of despair
when I turned
to find you dancing there.
And as I reached to you
I found and touched
the gentle fabric of your smile.
And turning thus to reach to you
I felt you turn within your dance
and wrap the world
around us as a blanket
to comfort us to sleep.
And so,
as despair dissolved to hope
I took your gentle features
softly in my hands.
And as I placed my kiss on yours
I felt the world revolve at last
to bring on something new.
