I came to know
the brutal truth
of being in the world,
and knew
that I could look
nowhere else for happiness
but within myself.

And so I abandoned
my quest for pleasure in the world
and looked for ways
to complete myself.

It was only then
that I found you
And together
we made a life within the world.

For we built
on each others strength
and only then
found that pleasure
that had eluded us so long.
