Heart of my Desire

It was the secret heart of my desire
that spoke to you last night
and the vision of my dream
that I touched as I reached to you.

It was the fulfillment of a destiny
when I took you in my arms,
whispered in your ear
and felt the tug of your embrace.

For though I have known you for a moment
I have loved you for eternity
and I could not let that moment pass away
